Kate Smith

Dr. Kate Smith is a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner and Doctor of Chiropractic.

She has worked in private practice in Sydney, and has also taught anatomy and histology at university for the last 10 years.

Fascinated by science and the human body, Kate has been teaching histology and anatomy at Macquarie University’s hospital and laboratories since 2010. She has also been credited for her academic achievements in differential diagnosis and clinical practice by the Chiropractic and Osteopathic College of Australasia (COCA).

Kate has had her own personal battle with chronic illness, a weak immune system, allergies, skin conditions such as eczema and chronic pain, all resolved with a functional medicine approach. Her experience has made her passionate about helping others find their way through their list of symptoms to recover their own health.

“If I was a health professional that felt lost in the medical system, what hope do other people have for getting better? I’ve spent over 10 years working as a chiropractor, but I always felt something was missing. There was a small percentage of patients who would not respond to conventional treatment. They should have been getting better, but they weren’t. This is where I found functional medicine offered a more in-depth approach to health, and the results speak for themselves. I haven’t looked back since.”
